In an uplifting announcement for the Thaipusam festival, Penang Port Commission (PPC) & Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port) will offer 24 hours of free ferry rides on the 24th and 25th of January 2024 from 12.00 AM to 11.30 PM. This gesture aims to support the cultural festivities and ease travel for celebrants during one of Malaysia’s most significant events.
Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group will partner with Kaleris to implement its Navis N4 Terminal Operating System starting in January 2024, to accelerate the productivity, efficiency and green operations initiative at the port.
Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group is expected to continue driving the development of the logistics and port sector in Malaysia. This is in line with the Group's commitment to invest nearly RM26 billion over the next five (5) years to build various developments in the Sungai Pulai area. This investment and development is expected to generate more than 23,000 job opportunities in the area.
Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, set a new milestone by handling 11,405,312 Freight Weight Tonnes (“FWTs”) of conventional cargo in 2023. This record-breaking achievement surpassed its previous high of 11,115,670 FWTs recorded in 2022. Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport, announced the new record achievement during its New Year 2024 countdown event at Wharf 8A, Northport on 31st December 2023.
Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a joint venture between the MMC Group and APM Terminals, inked an agreement with Mitsui E&S Co., Ltd. (Mitsui) to procure 48 electric rubber tyre gantry cranes.
Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a joint venture between Malaysian based MMC Group and Hague based APM Terminals has been named as the award winner of the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) Forward Faster Sustainability Awards 2023, under the main Enterprise Category: “The Forward Faster Sustainability Award – Gender Equality”. PTP was also recognised under the Recognition Categories: "Partnership for the Goals Recognition" and "Pioneer Sustainable Development Action Recognition".
Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB), a prominent player in the port and logistics industry, has joined forces with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) in a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at spearheading sustainable practices and adopting advanced technology within the port and logistics field. This transformative partnership, known as the Smart Collaboration Programme, will position PPSB as a leading Smart and Green Port, paving the way for other industry players to follow suit.
Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, was announced as the recipient of the Anugerah Perdana Penarafan Bintang Sasaran Penting (APBSP) 2023 under the Key Point ll category, during the appreciation award ceremony event held at the Leo Moggie Convention Centre, TNB Platinum Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur on 16th November 2023. The Chief Executive Officer of Northport, Dato' Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, was present to receive the award on behalf of the company. The award was presented by Yang Berhormat Senator Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, Minister of Home Affairs.
