On 4 June 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group has achieved a new milestone by handling a record 1,077,747 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in a single month. This achievement, accomplished without any congestion, reinforces PTP’s position as Malaysia’s busiest and largest transshipment hub.

Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, sets a new record after handling the highest monthly container throughput of 335,361 TEUs (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit) in May 2024, a significant growth of 26.6 percent against May last year. This achievement surpassed the previous record of 310,865 TEUs, which was set in December 2020.

On 28 May 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, and the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) announced a collaborative initiative aimed at fostering sustainable urban agriculture through an innovative large-scale vertical farming project. Known as the “Circle of Life Community Garden”, this initiative is set to expand urban farming in Klang, promoting community engagement and integrating principles of the circular economy.

On 20 May 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, celebrated a historic milestone as it welcomed MV OOCL Japan, the largest ever container vessel to berth at its facilities. Owned by Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) Limited, MV OOCL Japan boasts a capacity of 21,413 TEUs, setting a new record for Northport by surpassing the previous largest ship to call at its port, Eugen Maersk, which had a capacity of 11,000 TEUs in 2013.
