On 28th August 2024, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, recently welcomed a group of students and teachers from SMK Taman Kluang Barat for an educational visit aimed at providing insights into Port Operations, Logistics and career opportunities in the Maritime Industry. The visit reflects Johor Port’s commitment in engaging with the community and nurturing the next generation of talent.
On 27 August 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, launched the Northport Apprenticeship Programme as an initiative to enhance local talent development while empowering the workforce within its community. This programme aims to equip aspiring local talents with the essential knowledge and skillset needed for employment as prime mover drivers within Northport and its strategic partners in the ports and logistics industry.
On 24 – 27 August 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group recently hosted a dynamic supplier engagement programme centred around Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. Aimed at catalysing PTP's ESG journey while fostering vendor alignment, and drive sustainable practices throughout the supply chain, the event drew a crowd of nearly 300 participants representing 180 PTP suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
From 21 to 24 August 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group has once again made Malaysia proud at the 14th ASEAN Ports Association (APA) Sports Meet in Kuala Lumpur and successfully bagged five winnings. The prestigious tournament, hosted by the Port Klang Authority, saw over 400 athletes from across Southeast Asia compete in various sports.
On 16 August 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, held a health talk program titled “Heart Disease and Sudden Fatality”. The program, organized by Northport’s ESG Committee (Social & Wellbeing), featured Dr. Malar Santhi, a renowned healthcare professional and social media influencer, as the speaker.
On 16 August 2024, Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB) had the pleasure of hosting a delightful Hi-Tea with esteemed members of the Media Agencies at Suffolk House, George Town. The purpose of this gathering was to foster connections with media representatives, disseminate updates on the port's recent accomplishments, and outline forthcoming plans.
On 15 August 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn Bhd (Kuantan Port), a subsidiary of IJM Corporation Berhad and Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise collaborative efforts to ensure the realisation of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) land bridge connecting Kuantan Port to Port Klang, enhancing connectivity, seamless integration, efficiency and streamlining transfer of goods between the two ports.
On 10 August 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, hosted its 16th annual Northport Bowling Challenge at Sunway Mega Lanes, Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre. The event drew an impressive turnout of 48 teams, showcasing the strong bonds between Northport and its business partners.
On 8 August 2024, the Chief Executive Officer of Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, participated in the 2024 CEO Master Class Sabah. The event, held at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu, brought together approximately 800 of Sabah’s business leaders and entrepreneurs.
On 2 to 6 August 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, has successfully hosted its inaugural Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Sustainability (HSSES) Week 2024. With the theme, "From Adherence to Commitment", PTP underscored its unwavering dedication to creating a sustainable and responsible operating environment.
