PENANG, 17 August 2023 – Today marks a significant milestone in Penang’s transportation history as the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi bin Haji Abdul Razak, officiates the launch of the new ferry operations at Pangkalan Raja Tun Uda (PRTU). The new ferry operations are set to transform the way people travel in Penang and provide a more convenient, efficient, and eco-friendly mode of transportation for locals and tourists alike.
The event marked a significant milestone for the ferry operations in Penang, ushering in a new era of enhanced passenger experience and convenience. The upgraded ferry terminals at Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim (PSAH) and Pangkalan Raja Tun Uda (PRTU) now offers a range of modern amenities, including free Wi-Fi, air-conditioned waiting areas, and cashless payment options.
With the implementation of free Wi-Fi, passengers can now stay connected with ease during their ferry journeys. The air-conditioned waiting areas provide a comfortable and pleasant environment for travellers, particularly during peak hours or adverse weather conditions. Additionally, the introduction of cashless payment methods offers a seamless and efficient ticketing process for all passengers.
