From 23 – 28 December 2022, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group extends its appreciation of seafarers during Christmas with Christmas Hampers distribution to vessels calling PTP.

The hampers, consisting of edible items such as local delights were made even more meaningful as the cakes and cookies were homemade by the single mothers of Gelang Patah and trainee of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti Tanjung Puteri (PKPDK), a welfare and Community Recovery Organization under the Malaysian Welfare Department. The involvement of both these communities were part of PTP’s continuous CSR effort in involving all level of the local community in the progress of the port and at the same time to help alleviate the economy of those involved.

Throughout the program, a total of 50 special Christmas hampers were distributed to vessel crews via vessel master. Saber Hadrouni, Senior Manager Operation Execution Department represented PTP and went onboard of Maersk Edith and MSC Allegra to handover the hampers. 

A practice that began in 2020, the gesture aims to not only build relationship with loyal customers but to also spread joy to seafarers working during the festive season.
