PTP PARTICIPATES IN THE 28TH MEETING OF THE CONFERENCE OF THE PARTIES (COP28) TO THE UNFCCC

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, participated in the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28), held from 30 November until 12 December at Expo City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

A total of 141 national governments, involving more than 70,000 delegates joined the conference, committing to the advancement of climate-resilient development, the strengthening of health systems, and the building of resilient and thriving communities for the benefit of the present and future.

On 11 December, Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP was also featured in a special COP28 presentation titled, “Smart Green Port: A Story from Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia”. In the session, Marco shared PTP’s sustainability journey as a smart green port where decarbonisation and digitalisation converge to deliver environmentally sustainable operations.

The participation of PTP in COP 28, under the Ministry of Transport, Malaysia was part of the company’s continuous commitment and effort towards sustainability agenda as well as to increase brand awareness in the region and as an on-going stakeholder engagement initiative to strengthen the relationship between the companies and its relevant business partners.
