On 18 May 2023, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group successfully organised its inaugural PTP Legal Day 2023 held at Wisma B, PTP.

Aimed at creating awareness among the employees, PTP Legal Day 2023 kicked off with a prize-giving ceremony by Muhammad Abdullah Hatta, Chief Financial Officer of PTP for winners of the ERM crossword puzzle and the anti-bribery poster contests held prior to the day. The contest was also well received by the employees of Pelepas Inland Terminal Services (PTIS), in which Narendren Rengasamy, Managing Director of PTIS, handed out prizes to the PTIS winners.

PTP Legal Day 2023 then continued with two talk sessions featuring speakers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and a well-known law firm. Topics covered included offences under the MACC Act, sexual harassment, damages, stamp duty, and extension of time in contracts. More than 100 participants comprising heads of departments and employees attended the event. In addition, a consultation booth on Integrity, Governance and Compliance (IGC), and ERM was set up to answer employees’ questions and provide support as needed.

PTP Legal Day 2023 highlights PTP’s commitments and aligns with the ‘G’ element of the company’s ESG initiative by raising awareness of the importance of good governance practices, support through regulatory cooperation, and the advisory clinic by the IGC team.
