On 19 June 2023, Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group, welcomed a delegation from Port of Melbourne Authority as part of an engagement between both parties for Asia – Europe Green Shipping Corridor – Malaysia Feasibility Study for A Pilot Project at Port of Tanjung Pelepas.

Led by Shaun Mooney,  Executive General Manager Commercial of Port of Melbourne, the delegation was welcomed by Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP, and several members of PTP Management Team.

The working visit began with an in-depth presentation on PTP’s operational performance, the port’s beginnings and current progress with its on-going development, sustainability initiatives, and PTP contribution to the port industry towards the nation’s economic growth.

During the round table discussion, both parties shared and deliberated various matters of interest including on the collaboration in business and investment for future development as well as on sustainability partnerships. The delegation then proceeded on a port tour before ending the familiarisation visit.

The visit by the Port of Melbourne Authority was an integral part of PTP’s 2023 stakeholder engagement programme, with the primary objectives of enhancing bilateral relations between the company and investors, as well as jointly exploring potential business opportunities.
