On 22 February 2023, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP) and Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), members of MMC Group, participated in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines-East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Maritime Conference held at JW Marriot Jakarta, Indonesia.

Hosted by PELINDO, the BIMP-EAGA MARITIME 2023 Exhibition and Conference delivered insightful updates on The Innovation of Ports Infrastructure and Improvement of Terminal Efficiency. There were also presentations on greener and more energy savings solution for the terminal to consider. This event allowed close corporation and correlation between the ports in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Brunei together with relevant satellite port services companies.

Attended by hundreds of executives and captains of the industry including from leading shipping lines, shippers, cargo owners, freight forwarders, logistics companies and many more, the conference featured 30 world-class international business leaders as distinguished speakers.

During the event, Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP was featured as one of the conference speakers discussing a topic entitled “The Ipsum Magna Programme: Footprint Optimisation”. Apart from the conference, PTP and Johor Port also participated in the exhibition programme under the banner of Malaysia’s Southern Gateway spearheaded by Johor Port Authority.

The participation of PTP and Johor Port at the BIMP-EAGA Maritime Conference was part of the companies’ continuous effort to increase brand awareness in the region and as an on-going stakeholders’ engagement initiative to strengthen the relationship between the companies and its relevant business partners including key players in port industry including the Government entities.
