On 19 June 2023, Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group, collaborated with Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) Malaysia to celebrate one of the world’s latest and largest container vessels named MSC Tessa.

Amongst the notable dignitaries attended the event include YB Tuan Ir Ts Mohd Fazli Mohd Salleh, Johor State Public Works, Infrastructure & Transportation Committee Chairman; Joanne Lee, Commercial Director of MSC Malaysia; Pascal Soriano, Chief Financial Officer of MSC Malaysia; and Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP; members of Government agencies and several selected Senior Management Team of PTP and MSC Malaysia.

With 24,116 TEUs capacity, the MSC Tessa has a length and width of 400 metres and 61.5 metres.  

The berthing of MSC Tessa at PTP is a testament of PTP’s capacity and capability to accommodate mega size vessels and is in line with PTP’s aspiration to lead the global benchmark for integrated port services from the Straits of Malacca.
