On 28 August 2024, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, hosted a delegation from Petronas Chemical MBTE Sdn Bhd (Petronas Chemical), led by Ramzan Fathin Abdul Mujib, Executive of Culture & Behaviour, for an insightful visit that included an overview of the port’s operations, a port tour and a series of technical sharing sessions. The visit was aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and exploring collaborative opportunities between the two industries.

The visit commenced with a presentation on Johor Port’s operational capabilities by Mohd Rafizal Esmail, Head of Bulk & Breakbulk Department. During it, he highlighted the advanced bulk cargo management and specialised logistics services. Johor Port’s team also showcased its recent achievements, technological innovations, and best practices in positioning the port as a pivotal logistics hub in the region.

The Petronas Chemical delegation was then taken on an exclusive tour of Johor Port’s state-of-the-art facilities including the container terminal, bulk cargo terminal, and liquid handling areas. The tour provided firsthand insights into the port’s efficient operational processes, stringent safety protocols and advanced equipment used to support daily operations.

Key highlight of the visit was the technical sharing session, where Johor Port experts delved into crucial aspects of port operations, emphasising safety, work compliance and cultivating a positive workplace culture.

The visit concluded with a networking session, which served as a platform for Petronas Chemical and Johor Port to explore synergies and discuss potential areas for future collaboration. The interaction underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in enhancing operational efficiency and meeting evolving industry demands.
