PENANG PORT USES DRONES AS ITS LATEST ASSET FOR SURVEILLANCE AND SECURITY MONITORING AT THE PORT
On 8 October 2021, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, in collaboration with Ihsan Johor, a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) embarked on a recruitment drive and Corporate Social Responsibility series to help the underprivileged.
With the objective to attract more qualified female applicants to apply for work in PTP especially those who were affected during this pandemic, the first leg of the recruitment drive series was conducted at Balai Muafakat Rumah Pangsa Taman Mawar, Pasir Gudang Johor to a group of single mothers.
Approximately 100 single mothers from Persatuan Ibu Tunggal Ummi Mawarnis Pasir Gudang Johor and Ibu Warisan Permata Raudha attended the recruitment briefing conducted by representatives from PTP.
Apart from the recruitment drive, PTP has also sponsored items in the necessities care pack that were distributed after the briefing session. Prior to this, PTP has collaborated with other NGOs namely Belia Mahir and Srikandi to drive on the same initiative. To date, PTP has successfully employed 10 homeless persons to work as prime mover operators and lashers.
PTP remains committed to help the underprivileged through various initiatives especially in times of difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic.
