PENANG PORT COLLABORATES WITH NATIONAL ANTI-DRUGS AGENCY FOR TEKAD AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

On 8 December 2022, Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group, collaborated with the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) Penang Chapter in organising the “Program Tempat Kerja Bebas Dadah (TEKAD)” campaign which kicked off at Butterworth Wharves Cargo Terminal.  Penang Port is the first corporate entity in Penang that supports AADK’s TEKAD initiative.

During the occasion, Mohd Zaki Ablah, Assistant Director of AADK, Seberang Perai Utara was present to deliver an awareness talk on the dangers of drug abuse and its negative impacts towards the communities.

Dato’ Sasedharan Vasudevan, Chief Executive Officer, Nazri Ismail, Head of Commercial and Stakeholders Management Division, Mohamed Shaffi Khatri Abdulla, Head of Corporate Services Division, Head of Departments and 200 of Penang Port’s employees also attended the ceremony.

The awareness campaign highlighted the five elements of TEKAD, which include top management’s commitment and leadership, adopting a drug prevention policy at work, supervisor training, employee education programme and community CSR programme. All five elements must be met for the company to receive a Drug Free Certificate from AADK.
