PENANG PORT COLLABORATES WITH MUTIARA FOODBANK

On 17 December 2022, Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group, collaborated with Mutiara Foodbank, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) established with the aim of distributing edible food from going to waste and to give a positive impact on the underprivileged people in Penang.

Various activities such as packing, distribution of lunch boxes, and kitchen duties were carried out together with the help of volunteers from Penang Port. A total of 150 lunch boxes were distributed to underprivileged families at Kampung Baru, Jalan Air Putih, Ayer Itam, Penang during the programme.

Volunteers were also briefed about the efforts and initiatives from Mutiara Foodbank to assist underprivileged families and support the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 2 which is about creating a world free of hunger by 2030.

Penang Port will continue to empower underprivileged families by implementing integrated solutions and creating systemic change toward ending hunger by collaborating with Mutiara Foodbank.
