On 10 November 2023, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, signed Collective Agreements (CAs) with the Northport (Malaysia) Bhd Executives Association (NMBEA) and the Northport (Malaysia) Bhd Staff Union (NMBSU). The signing event, which was held at the Hilton Petaling Jaya hotel, set another milestone for Northport as the company successfully finalised the terms for both executive and non-executive employees at the same time.

During the signing ceremony, the Management team was led by Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport, while Mohd Rizal Ramli, President of NMBEA, and Jamal Kamarudin, President of NMBSU, led their respective associations. The signing event was witnessed by Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad and Mohd Majdhan Bek Abd Wahid, representative from the Industrial Relations Department of Selangor.

“Achieving this consensus marks a collective accomplishment for everyone involved as we successfully exchanged our opinions and resolved our issues professionally and with mutual respect while considering all viewpoints for the sake of good relations between both sides. I hope that with the improvements in the terms of the agreements, our employees will react positively and continue to give their best in order to achieve the company’s goals,” said Dato’ Azman during the event.

Meanwhile, Tan Sri Che Khalib said, “Regardless of your job, you are the pillars upholding Northport’s stability, bearing huge responsibility and trust for this company. I would like to congratulate all parties for engaging in harmonious and successful discussions, resulting in the completion of this agreement with professionalism and maturity. My sincere hope is that both sides will adhere to all the agreed-upon terms.”
