NORTHPORT RECEIVES RE-CERTIFICATION OF ISO 37001:2016 ANTI-BRIBERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

On 24 January 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, successfully maintained its ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (“ABMS”) certification for the next three years until 2026, following a re-certification audit. The certificate, issued by the certification body British Standards Institution Services Malaysia (“BSI”) was presented by the Managing Director of BSI Services Malaysia, Evelyn Chye to Northport’s Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof during a simple ceremony held in Northport.

Prior to this, Northport underwent a comprehensive ABMS re-certification audit conducted by BSI from 27-30 November 2023. BSI is a United Kingdom-based organization that offers global services in the fields of standardization, systems assessment, product certification, training, and advisory services. BSI has obtained accreditation from Jabatan Standards Malaysia (“JSM”) and the ANSI National Accreditation Board (“ANAB”).

In 2020, Northport achieved the distinction of becoming the first port in Malaysia to attain the ISO37001:2016 ABMS certification. Through the implementation of ABMS, Northport consistently conducts internal and external audits to evaluate the effectiveness of its Management System, ensuring compliance with policies, laws and industry regulations. These audits are vital for identifying areas of improvement and ensuring alignment with governance standards, showcasing Northport’s unwavering commitment to integrity and excellence.

The re-certification of ABMS emphasized Northport’s dedication to streamlining processes, enhancing transparency and fostering accountability across its operations. By adhering to these standards, Northport instills confidence among customers, business partners and stakeholders in its integrity and reliability.
