From 5 to 9 December 2022, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group embarked on a programme to raise awareness about the prevention of corruption and to encourage its employees and stakeholders to actively fight against corruption by organising Integrity Week 2022. The programme was part of the Company’s Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC) initiatives, held in conjunction with the International Anti-Corruption Day 2022. 9^th December is designated as the International Anti-Corruption Day that is celebrated all over the world annually.

Northport’s Integrity Week 2022 was organised with the aim of enhancing the awareness among TeamNorthport and its stakeholders pertaining to business integrity and the continuous effort to combat any form of corruption within the organization.

Various activities were conducted throughout the five-day program including online quiz contest, selfie contest and integrity survey exercise to measure the effectiveness of ABAC implementation throughout the year.

Engagement sessions were also conducted on the third and fourth day of the program, focusing on the issue of money laundering. The session titled “Understanding and Managing Anti-Money Laundering” was delivered through Zoom platform by Senior Superintendent Ridzuan bin Kader from Anti-Money Laundering Division, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). Integrity Week 2022 was concluded with a Tea Talk Session with Datuk Dr. Anis Yusal Yusoff, Principal Fellow, Institute of Ethnic Studies (KITA), National University of Malaysia (UKM).

In December 2020, Northport became the first port in Malaysia to be certified with ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (“ABMS”) by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd (“SIRIM QAS”). Northport has embarked on various initiatives to promote the value of integrity in the workplace including extensive stakeholder engagement programs, policy review, Integrity Pledge by employees and Integrity Pact with external parties.
