On 26 and 27 January 2023, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, collaborated with Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) to organise a Health Screening Programme (HSP) with the objective of promoting healthy lifestyle and awareness of the non-communicable diseases among members of TeamNorthport.

Held at Northport C Building, HSP offered three sub-programmes namely SEHATi, Basic Health Screening, and ROSE – HPV Self-Testing. SEHATi is an application introduced by SOCSO for easy access to health screening. The free health screening programme was offered to eligible employees to initiate awareness among TeamNorthport for early detection and prevention of non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, hypertension and diabetes. Meanwhile, Basic Health Screening was offered to all employees by providing facilities to measure body mass index (BMI), blood pressure and random blood sugar test.

Another sub-programme called Removing Obstacles to cervical ScrEening (ROSE) – HPV Self-Testing was offered to women employees to address some of the local barriers that prevent women from being effectively screened. The two-day programme also featured counters for Basic Dietitian Consultation and Audiometry Booth for hearing test.

HSP was launched by SOCSO ten years ago but it was temporarily suspended from April 2020 until May 2022 due to COVID-19 pandemic. The programme was re-launched in June 2022 where SOCSO’s SEHATi mobile application was also introduced.
