From 6 to 9 October 2022, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, participated in the 6th Selangor International Business Summit 2022 (SIBS 2022). Held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the annual business event was officiated by the Raja Muda of Selangor, DYTM Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj. 

Also present during the launch event was Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor and Yang Berhormat Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Industry and Trade. The event was organised by Invest Selangor Berhad and hosted by the State Government of Selangor.

SIBS 2022 comprised of six main components namely, the Selangor International Expo (F&B), Selangor Industrial Park Expo (SPARK), Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC), Selangor International Expo (MEDIC), Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention (SDEC) and Selangor R&D and Innovation Expo (SRIE).

For the 6th edition of SIBS, Northport participated as an exhibitor at the Selangor Industrial Park Expo (SPARK) and Selangor International Expo (F&B) events. Meanwhile, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport was featured as one of the speakers in a panel session at the Selangor ASEAN Business Conference titled “Gateway to ESG in ASEAN: A Shared Vision of Sustainable Recovery”.

SIBS 2022 featured a total of 906 booths from 623 companies, a new record in SIBS history, with participants and attendees coming from 24 countries, also a new record for the four-day summit.

Northport’s participation in SIBS 2022 is a testament to the company’s commitment to support the State Government’s efforts in making Selangor as an investment destination of choice and a major gateway for ASEAN.
