Multi-Purpose Port

Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”) is one of the largest multi-purpose ports of its kind in the national ports system, offering dedicated facilities and services to handle a wide variety of cargoes ranging from containers to cars, break bulk cargoes as well as liquid and dry bulk cargoes of all types and shipment sizes. 

Its facilities are located at two locations; in Southpoint for conventional cargo handling, and in Northport where state-of-the-art container and conventional cargo handling facilities are located.

Domestic & International Recognition

Northport is the winner of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (“IAPH”) 2022 Sustainability Award, under the Health Safety and Security category, the first Malaysian port to receive the prestigious international award from IAPH and the winner of the Best Port Safety Management Award from the Ministry of Transport Malaysia in 2021.

Northport is also the winner of the National Occupational Safety and Health (“NCOSH”) Award 2019 in the Business Services category and Malaysia’s Best Seaport – Outstanding Performance Award presented by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia for two consecutive years, in conjunction with the Malaysia World Maritime Week 2016 and 2017.

Northport holds the distinction of being the first port in Malaysia to be awarded ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Safety and Health in 2019 and ISO 37001:2016 for Anti-Bribery Management System in 2021.

PKCT: A Dedicated Cruise Terminal

Port Klang Cruise Terminal Sdn Bhd (“PKCT”), jointly owned by Northport and Westports Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“Westports”), is a dedicated cruise terminal in Port Klang, providing port facilities and services for cruise ships and navy vessels on a land area measuring 69.8 acres in Pulau Indah. 

PKCT is effectively the cruise terminal for the country’s capital Kuala Lumpur, one of the world’s most visited cities. Its hinterland in the state of Selangor offers a myriad of natural and historical tourist attractions. 

PKCT has handled more than 5 million local and international cruise passengers since the terminal commenced its operations in December 1995.

A Functional & Integrative Cruise Terminal

The terminal is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and amenities for the comfort of passengers and terminal users including air-conditioned buildings, link bridges for embarkation and disembarkation and covered walkways connecting the wharf side and terminal.

Comprehensive amenities are available such as ATMs, foreign exchange counters, F&B outlets, souvenir and gift shops as well as duty-free outlets.

Ample parking spaces are also available for cars and buses, including counters for taxi services.
