On 8 March 2023, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC group, signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) as the Academic Collaboration Partner at the UTHM Main Campus.

The collaboration with UTHM was formalised through the signing of the LOI by Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port together with Professor Ir Ts Dr Ruzairi Abdul Rahim, Vice Chancellor of UTHM and witnessed by Associate Professor Dr Md Asrul Nasid Masrom, Deputy Dean (Research, Development and Publication), Dr Wan Nurul Karimah Wan Ahmad, Head of FPTP Management and Technology Department, and Dr Haji Nazry Yahya, Head of Johor Port Skills Centre, and

The Academic Collaboration will provide benefits to both parties such as joint research opportunities between employees and industry, training opportunities as well as the transfer of the latest technology and knowledge from industry to the UTHM campus.
