Johor Port Demonstrates Patriotism and Love for the Country

JOHOR PORT DEMONSTRATES PATRIOTISM AND LOVE FOR THE COUNTRY
JOHOR BAHRU, 30 August 2021 – Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group is all geared up to celebrate National Day and Malaysia Day on 31 August 2021 and 16 September 2021, respectively.
To kick off the celebrations, the Multi-Purpose Port has launched its raise-the-flag campaign, “JPB Semarak Merdeka 2021” today to help spread the patriotic spirit while encouraging people to raise the Jalur Gemilang. As part of the celebrations, Johor Port distributed the mini Jalur Gemilang flag to its Port users and Government Agencies operating in the Multi-Purpose Port.
Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port affixed the Jalur Gemilang to hauliers (lorries carrying various cargoes to the Port), and in turn received appreciative honks and thumbs-up signs from the hauliers. Some of them even asked for more flags to take home for their friends and family. Also present at the mini Jalur Gemilang flag distribution was the Head of Custom Pasir Gudang, Badariatunnisak Binti Badri and Senior Management of Johor Port.
“As Malaysia’s Southern Gateway Multi-Purpose Port, we want to show our pride in being Malaysian as well as to showcase Malaysian solidarity during this challenging period. Hence, we have raised the Jalur Gemilang within the Port to celebrate and commemorate this National month” said Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port.
Johor Port has been participating actively during National month and had been participating in the annual Johor State level National Day parade. Although the Johor state-level National Day parade is put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Johor Port will continue to demonstrate love and patriotism for the country by enlivening the spirit of
National month at Johor Port. Johor Port dedicates this year’s National Day and Malaysia Day to the dedication and perseverance of all Malaysians and the Government in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Johor Port Berhad, a Member of MMC Group is an integrated multi-purpose port facility located at the southern tip of Peninsula Malaysia providing a comprehensive range of port services to meet the individual needs of its customer.
