KONTENA NASIONAL BERHAD EXPANDS ITS FLEET WITH THE ADDITION OF 30 NEW PRIME MOVERS
Kontena Nasional Berhad received 30 units of Volvo’s FM440 6×2 T RAS prime movers from Volvo Trucks Malaysia in a fleet expansion and modernisation move.
Putrajaya, 29 April 2019 – Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, clinched the Global Business Leadership Awards 2019 – Excellence in Port Facilities Management from the Asia Pacific Business Council for Sustainability and Institute of Sustainability.
The Global Business Leadership Awards 2019 took place at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel and was graced by His Royal Highness Tengku Hishamuddin Zaizi, Royal Patron of the Global Business Leadership Awards. His Excellency Mr Nicolas Dross the Head of Trade and Economic Relations from the European Union Delegation to Malaysia; was in attendance along with Mr Chris Daniel Wong, Organising Chairman of the Global Business Leadership Awards 2019 and Acting President of United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Malaysia; and Mr Roger Wong, President of Asia Pacific Business Council for Sustainability.
Johor Port was presented with the ‘Excellence in Port Facilities Management’ award in recognition of the port’s performance and innovative ideas in the port industry as well as for its role and achievement in implementing best practices within the organisation, resulting in benefits for shareholders, employees and customers. Johor Port commenced its operations in 1977 as the Premier Southern Gateway Multipurpose Port in Malaysia and to this day remains in an enviable position through continuously improving its processes and operational efficiency to earn the trust of stakeholders as the port evolved into a regional commodity hub with a reputation as the largest palm oil terminal in the world.
Additionally, the Global Business Leadership Awards recognised Johor Port and the other winners as the benchmarks and exemplar of sustainable business practices to other organisations in accordance to the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs). The awards event was in conjunction with the 11th Asia Pacific CSR Council Forum, themed “Advocating Sustainability as the New Normal for Business Growth”, which was aimed to promote the idea of Corporate Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility as a holistic approach for business development on a global scale. This is hoped to increase awareness on sustainable development within the business community and society.
The Global Business Leadership Awards 2019 – Excellence in Port Facilities Management was presented to Mr K C Low Head, Corporate Strategy & Business Development Division of Johor Port by His Royal Highness Tengku Hishamuddin Zaizi, Royal Patron of the Global Business Leadership Awards and His Excellency Mr Nicolas Dross the Head of Trade and Economic Relations from the European Union Delegation to Malaysia.
