Company Statement Regarding Vehicle Issue at Northport’s Vehicle Transit Centre
NORTHPORT INKS DEAL TO ACQUIRE NEW QUAY CRANES
PORT KLANG, 25 February 2025 – Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”) would like to refer to recent reports in local media and social media regarding vehicles currently at Northport’s Vehicle Transit Centre (“VTC”) due to an ongoing dispute between the affected vehicle owners, the shipping line and the shipping agent. We wish to clarify that Northport is not a party to this dispute. However, we remain committed to working closely with the relevant authorities, including the Port Klang Authority and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, in accordance with all applicable laws, to facilitate an amicable resolution for the affected parties. As negotiations are currently ongoing, we strongly urge all parties to refrain from making any speculative, irresponsible or incorrect statements regarding this issue.
