PORT OF TANJUNG PELEPAS AND KPPPTP SIGN 4TH COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

On 25 March 2021, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, successfully inked 4th Collective Agreement (2020 – 2023) with Kesatuan Pekerja-pekerja Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas (KPPPTP).

The signing ceremony was held at Mutiara Hotel, Johor Bahru between Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP and Muhammad Azli Shah Saa’don, President of KPPPTP. Also present as witnesses during the signing ceremony were Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Chairman of PTP, Datuk Mohamad Shafie BP Mammal, President of The Union Network International-Malaysia Labour Centre (UNI-MLC), together with PTP senior management team and the EXCO members of KPPPTP.

Collective Agreement is an important document that stipulates the terms and conditions of employment, which is normally negotiated upon by KPPPTP and PTP every three years. The objective of this Agreement is to provide a clear understanding of the relationship between the Company and the Union in matters concerning the terms and conditions of service for all employees represented by the Union.

Acknowledging the fact that the wellbeing of the Company as well as its employees is dependent upon a common determination to work together with the closest cooperation, both PTP and KPPPTP affirmed their desire to create a relationship of mutual respect and confidence.

Currently KPPPTP has approximately 1,500 registered non-management members from various departments and divisions in PTP.
