On 2 November 2021, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, proudly clinched two awards at the Anugerah Kecemerlangan Industri (AKI) or Industry Excellence Award for the Service Sector under Category 4 (domestic company with sales turnover of more than RM100 million) and the Prime Minister’s Award, the highest accolade at the awards ceremony.

Organised by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), the AKI Award was established to encourage and recognise outstanding Malaysian companies which emphasises on Continuous Improvement in their Products and Services; and over the years has gained a reputation for being the nation’s premier corporate recognition award.

YBhg Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Chairman of Johor Port Berhad and Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad together with Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port Berhad received the award on behalf of Johor Port at the event. The Prime Minister’s Award which carries a cash prize of RM500,000.00 was handed over by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob.
