On 16 January 2023, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, received a visit from the Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, YB Liew Chin Tong.

The General Manager of Port Klang Authority, Captain K Subramaniam and the Chief Executive Officer of Infinity Logistics & Transport, Dato’ Seri Chan Kong Yew were present to accompany the Deputy Minister during his visit to Northport. The Deputy Minister and his delegation were welcomed by Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport.

During the visit, the MITI delegation was briefed on the port’s operations and the ‘Reinventing Northport’ initiative by Dato’ Azman. The delegation was then taken for a tour of Northport for an in-depth experience of the port’s operations and facilities.

The visit provided the opportunity for the Ministry and the port operator to strengthen ties and work together to enhance the nation’s economic growth.

YB Liew Chin Tong was appointed as the new Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry on 10 December 2022. He is a Member of the Parliament for Iskandar Puteri and a Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly.
