From 10 to 12 March 2023, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group participated in the Selangor International Halal Convention 2023 (SELHAC 2023). The convention, jointly organised by the Jawatankuasa Tetap Industri Halal Selangor with HIS Toyyiba Sdn Bhd and the Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI), was held at World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

The 3-day event was officiated by the Menteri Besar of Selangor, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari. With the theme “Selangor International Halal Gateway”, SELHAC 2023 comprised of exhibitions, business forums and business matching opportunities with the industry players and service providers.

The event covered six main clusters, namely Food & Beverages, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Halal Ingredients, Personal Care & Beauty, Tourism & Hospitality and Modest Fashion. A total of 122 companies participated in the exhibition to promote their Halal products and services.

During the event, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport, was invited as one of the panel members at a forum titled “Halal Logistics Supply Chain: Issues & Challenges: Consumers, Authorities and 3PL Perspectives”.

Northport’s participation in SELHAC 2023 was aimed at promoting the Halal Silk Route initiative to potential customers especially the Halal industry players, exporters and importers, while at the same, demonstrating the company’s commitment to contribute to the development of the Halal industry, especially in the state of Selangor.
