From 22 to 28 May 2023, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, participated in the National Training Week (NTW) programme, organised by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp).

Held at Northport C Building, Northport employees from various divisions and departments attended the training sessions. Apart from Northport’s employees, the programme was also open to the public, providing an opportunity for participants to enroll in specialised training courses related to the port industry.

NTW is a week-long comprehensive training event organised to promote upskilling, reskilling and multiskilling opportunities for the workforce and talents in Malaysia. The programme is specifically designed to train 125,000 Malaysian citizens for free which covers a wide range of training encompassing technical, soft skills, leadership, and digitalisation.

During NTW, several training sessions were organised, covering topics such as Port Security Management, Halal Awareness, Port Safety & Security and the programme concluded with the study tour of Northport.

Northport’s participation in NTW was aimed at providing both internal and external talents with the opportunity to enhance their learning, training, and skill development. The success of NTW programme demonstrates Northport’s commitment to assist the Government in cultivating a culture of lifelong learning among Malaysians and equipping them with essential skills and knowledge.
