NORTHPORT CONTINUES TO EMPOWER TVET THROUGH COLLABORATION WITH UNIVERSITI TEKNIKAL MALAYSIA MELAKA

On 16 January 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group continued its commitment to the enhancement of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). The primary objective of the MoU is to facilitate the sharing of experiences, expertise, technical proficiency, resources and knowledge between both parties.

The signing ceremony was held at the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technology and Engineering of UTeM, where the MoU document was signed by Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport and Prof. Dr. Zulkiflie Ibrahim, Vice Chancellor (Academic & International) of UTEM.

Through this partnership, Northport and UTeM will explore potential collaboration in training expertise, develop training modules and provide facilities for the students’ Work-Based Learning.

Northport has been consistent in supporting the Government’s TVET aspirations. Last year, the Company signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Kolej WIT Sdn Bhd to facilitate industrial training, with a particular focus on TVET.

UTeM was established on 1 December 2000, as the first technical university and the 14th public university listed in Malaysia. UTeM pioneers the ‘practice and application-oriented’ teaching and learning methodology for higher technical education in Malaysia.
