PTP LAUNCHES PHASE 2 OF SPARE PART VENDING MACHINES FOR ENHANCED WAREHOUSE EFFICIENCY

On 26 February 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group, marked a significant step towards digitalized and efficient warehouse operations with the successful launch of Phase 2 of its Spare Part Vending Machine initiative at the D04 Warehouse in Pelepas Free Zone A.

The ceremony was officiated by Mark Hardiman, Chief Executive Officer of PTP. Joining him were esteemed guests, including Ko Chen Han, Commercial Director of KVC Industrial Suppliers Sdn Bhd, Edison Chung, Business Development Manager of Flow Solution Sdn Bhd, and senior management representatives from all three companies.

Building upon the success of the initial phase launched in 2022 for maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) consignment items, Phase 2 expands the scope, allowing authorized personnel to retrieve needed items promptly and independently. The consignment model ensures the machines are consistently stocked, eliminating unnecessary wait times.

Beyond convenience, these smart machines boast additional functionalities, including automated report generation and user-friendly interfaces, designed to enhance productivity and modernize work practices within the warehouse.

The launch of the Spare Part Vending Machine underscores PTP’s unwavering dedication to delivering and elevating service levels for both internal and external stakeholders, embodying PTP’s commitment to continuous improvement and leveraging innovative solutions to optimize its operations.
