In conjunction with the National Training Week (NTW) 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, was honoured as one of the strategic partners of NTW 2024. The certificate of appreciation was presented by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, to Northport’s Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, during the NTW 2024 Summit at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on 30 June 2024.

Also present at the event were the YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources; YB Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications; YB Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, Minister of Health; Dato’ Sri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Human Resources, as well as leaders and employees of the public and private sector.

NTW is a nationwide event organized by HRD Corp, an agency under the Ministry of Human Resources, with the aim of fostering a lifelong learning culture among employers, training providers and the general public. The week-long program provides opportunities and initiatives for upskilling and reskilling Malaysia’s workforce and talents through various learning methods and platforms provided by local industry players for free to all Malaysians nationwide.

NTW 2024 commenced nationwide from 24 to 30 June 2024, with the aim of offering over 25,000 free training programs to 200,000 Malaysians. The focus skill areas for NTW 2024 included Life Skills, Future Skills, Financial Skills, Creativity & Innovation and Sustainable Development.

“Northport’s participation in NTW reflects our commitment to contributing to the nation’s human capital development. By offering diverse and comprehensive training programmes related to the port and logistics industry, we aim to equip Malaysians with the necessary exposure, skills and competencies to thrive in an ever-evolving job market,” said Dato’ Azman.
