On 15 July 2024, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, opened its doors for an educational visit by a group of lecturers from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL). This educational visit provided an invaluable opportunity for the lecturers to gain firsthand insights into the port’s operations, infrastructure and logistics management.

The lecturers were taken on a comprehensive tour of the port’s facilities, including the Container Terminal, Bulk Cargo handling areas, and the port’s Logistics and Warehousing facilities. They had the opportunity to witness the port’s day-to-day operations, which included cargo loading and unloading activities.

The tour also included interactive sessions where the lecturers engaged with Johor Port’s Operation team from the Container and Bulk & Break Bulk Departments. The lecturers, on their part, were eager to integrate the practical knowledge gained into their curricular, thus enhancing the learning experience for their students.

This educational visit marks the beginning of a promising partnership between Johor Port and UniKL, aimed at bridging the gap between industry and academia. By fostering such a relationship, both institutions are taking a significant step towards creating platforms aimed at nurturing the next generation to become skilled professionals in the logistics and maritime industries.
