On 8 August 2024, the Chief Executive Officer of Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, participated in the 2024 CEO Master Class Sabah. The event, held at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu, brought together approximately 800 of Sabah’s business leaders and entrepreneurs.

The opening address was delivered by YB Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun, the State Finance Minister. There was also a keynote address by Tan Sri Vincent Tan, founder of Berjaya Corporation Berhad, titled “Rising Against the Odds – From Humble Beginnings to Global Empire”. The programme, organized by Sabah Young Business and Industry Leaders (“SYBIL”) and the Malaysia International Chambers of Commerce (“MICCI”), featured a series of insightful discussions and networking opportunities.

Dato’ Azman, who is also the Vice President of MICCI shared his insights during a panel discussion on “Bridging Worlds – Staffing and Talent”, moderated by Datuk CK Tan, Immediate Past President of MICCI.

Among the other distinguished panelists were Dr. John Chan Sung Tong, Managing Director of Chemsain Konsultant Sdn Bhd; Khairul Rusydi, Co-founder and CEO of Reactor Group; Datuk Adzmir Abdul Rahman, CEO Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd; Dr Kelvin Ch’ng Boon Hong, CEO of Gleneagles Hospital at Kota Kinabalu; and Raja Singham Co-Founder and Managing Director of BAC Education Group.

The annual CEO Master Class Sabah aims to inspire and equip entrepreneurs, CEOs and business leaders in Sabah with the knowledge and connections needed to elevate their organisations to new heights. This year’s event continued to deliver on that promise, offering valuable insights and networking opportunities for attendees.
