From 21 to 24 August 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group has once again made Malaysia proud at the 14^th ASEAN Ports Association (APA) Sports Meet in Kuala Lumpur and successfully bagged five winnings. The prestigious tournament, hosted by the Port Klang Authority, saw over 400 athletes from across Southeast Asia compete in various sports.

PTP’s contingent of 16 athletes represented Malaysia in mini-marathon, futsal and table tennis. Their outstanding performance led to a remarkable five medals haul, where in mini-marathon category, the contingent managed to secure a gold medal in the men’s team, a silver medal in the women’s team, and bronze medals in the women’s open individual. On top of that, PTP athletes also contributed to Malaysia’s overall success with bronze medals in futsal and women’s table tennis.

The APA Sports Meet serves as a platform for fostering camaraderie, cooperation, and excellence among ASEAN member states. The event’s theme, “Inspired by Tradition, Defined by Excellence,” perfectly encapsulates the spirit of competition and the rich cultural heritage of the region.
