8 October 2024 – In collaboration with Johor Port Skills Centre (“JPCS”), Tanjung Bruas Port (“TBP”) hosted an Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (“ABAC”) policy awareness talk at Qashrina Chalet, Tanjung Minyak, Melaka. The event attended by 30 port’s contractors and suppliers together with TBP’s Management and staff.

The program represented by two (2) speakers who provided valuable insights to the participants. The first speaker, Puan Siti Kamariah Md Shahrin, Senior Manager of the Corporate Planning and Risk Management (“CPRM”) Department.  She emphasized the importance of strict anti-bribery practices and the role of contractors in maintaining ethical standards at the port. Puan Siti outlined Tanjung Bruas Port’s current anti-corruption policies and encouraged personnel to commit to these standards and foster a transparent work environment.

The second speaker was En. Nur Asraf Samin, Senior Internal Auditor from the Governance & Investigation Unit. He shared the importance of whistleblower policies. He explained that whistleblower policies enable employees and contractors to report unethical or illegal activities safely while ensuring that reports are kept confidential. He urged participants to see these policies as important tools for fighting corruption and ensuring accountability at the port.

ABAC awareness talk demonstrates a shared commitment to promote integrity and transparency among the port’s contractors and beyond.
