From 19 to 22 October 2023, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, participated in the 7th Selangor International Business Summit 2023 (SIBS 2023). This annual business event, which took place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, was officiated by Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor, YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

Also in attendance during the opening ceremony was YB Tuan Ng Sze Han, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade and Mobility. The event was organised by Invest Selangor Berhad and hosted by the State Government of Selangor.

Themed as ‘Selangor the Gateway to ASEAN’, the event brought together global brands and industry players from around the world. SIBS 2023 comprised of six main components namely, the Selangor International Expo (F&B), Selangor International Expo (MEDIC), Selangor Industrial Park Expo (SPARK), Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC), Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention (SDEC) and Selangor R&D and Innovation Expo (SRIE).

For the 7th edition of SIBS, Northport showcased its presence as an exhibitor at the Selangor Industrial Park Expo (SPARK) and the Selangor International Expo (F&B). SIBS 2023 garnered participation from 1,006 exhibition booths representing 26 countries to exhibit their innovative products and establish connections within the global business community.

The annual SIBS event is one of Northport’s stakeholder engagement programmes, with a focus on nurturing business expansion and promoting international collaboration. Northport’s active participation in this event underscores its steadfast commitment to supporting the State Government’s effort to establish Selangor as a prominent regional economic, industrial and business hub.
