On 23 November 2022, Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB), a member of MMC Group, organised its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme by hosting a Blood Donation Drive at the North Butterworth Container Terminal (NBCT).

This programme was a collaboration with Hospital Seberang Jaya aimed with a goal to replenish the blood bank’s supplies.  Having an adequate blood supply at all times is crucial as it enables the hospital to treat emergency patients, patients undergoing major surgeries, cancer patients and more.

The Blood Donation Drive received an overwhelming response from 82 donors from various departments in Penang Port, as well as external stakeholders. Penang Port values employee cooperation and support to participate in this meaningful cause.  in carrying out acts of kindness. “Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person. Donating blood is lifesaving as it cannot be mass-produced anywhere other than our own bodies. This makes the Blood Donation Drive by Penang Port one of the most anticipated programmes,” said Hilmi Jafni from Containerised Cargo Department.
